WIN NEWS GREENLINK COVERAGE

WIN NEWS GREENLINK COVERAGE

We were thrilled today to meet with representatives of the WIN NEWS team who are covering the announcement that the Sippy Downs GREENLINK that was at one stage to be a Bus Link between the new Palmview Development and USC is finally off the table for good, never to be seen again just as thousands of locals wanted.

Congratulations and thank you to all the members of the community who supported the rejection of the Greenlink and especially to the volunteers to the SDDCA who over the last 7 years have worked tirelessly as a team to achieve this result for and on behalf of and at the request of thousands of local residents.

We would also like to personally thank our local Councillor Christian Dickson for his unrelenting support for the communities wishes to have this project scrapped.

Check out WIN News tonight for the full interview!

SDDCW Contributor Training – USC Kangaroo Project

Today the SDDCA Volunteer Webmaster, Matt Druce met with Elizabeth Brunton of the University of the Sunshine Coast Kangaroo Project to provide a training session so that they can commence posting information and news directly from the community website about the local kangaroo population and share with locals what they can do to minimise human impact on their dwindling numbers.

The Sippy Downs and District Community Website operates upon a WordPress Website framework providing Contributors with what is arguably the most user friendly web based publishing platform available.

FREE WordPress publishing training is available to Sporting, Support, Advocacy and education based community groups who wish to regularly contribute to the website by publishing news, stories and events direct to all of you any time they need to.

This fresh approach to transparent community engagement is an initiative of the Sippy Downs and District Community Association Inc (SDDCA) designed to empower groups and organisations to truly engage with the greater community and each other.

When any of our community contributors post via their account on the Community Website each and every post is automatically distributed to the Community Facebook, Google + and Twitter Accounts so no matter which social platform locals prefer they can keep up to date with local news and information.
(We even manually share key local information to the new NABO Community Social Network to Sippy Downs.)

Do you operate or know of any local community sporting, support or advocacy groups or projects? Point them in the direction of your Community Website and help them connect with the community and the community connect with them.
