It is with great pleasure that we can officially announce that the Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast has become a primary sponsor of the Sippy Downs and District Community Association Inc (SDDCA).
The Innovation Centre is now hosting the SDDCA’s Monthly Management Committee meetings on the 3rd Tuesday night of each and every month at 6pm and is now recognized as a primary sponsor.
Held in the Innovation Centre’s tech’d out conference room complete with state-of-the-art Audio Visual equipment this fantastic new venue will allow us to grow as we move forward in the years ahead assisting, working with and challenging our respective local, state and federal elected representatives and governing bodies to ensure the best interests of our vibrant diverse and ever growing community are not only met but held in high regard.
We reached out to the Innovation Centre a few months ago and following some fruitful correspondence and subsequent meeting with Innovation Centre CEO, Mark Paddenburg we secured this amazing new venue.
We sincerely appreciate the support extended to us by the Innovation Centre and are proud to form this bond under the community associations “Unity in CommUNITY” program which we kicked off late last year with the goal of forming stronger connections between the SDDCA and community organisations, businesses and community stakeholders across the Sippy Downs and District Community to better support, advocate for and benefit the community as a whole.
Since the community associations inception we have held our monthly committee meetings at Insite Realty in Sippy Downs and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their longstanding support over so many years set to continue in another valuable capacity.
As always we urge the the entire community, from businesses and community sporting and non profit groups to residents, students and property owners to take an active role in the SDDCA and to join us in building upon our vibrant, diverse and overgrowing community.
This morning the Avid Property Group officially opened Peter Crosby way which is the brand new connection road into Harmony at Palmview.
It has been some 15 years since Palmview was originally envisaged and today marks one step closer to delivery of this brand new master planned community at the very Heart of the Sunshine Coast.
The Sippy Downs and district community association and the volunteers that have driven it along for the past 13 years played an integral part in ensuring that this development had the best possible balance with the least possible negative impact upon the Sippy Downs community.
Councillor Christian Dickson from Division 6, Sunshine Coast Council said of this brand new opening ” This is a fantastic new residential community right in the heart of the Sunshine Coast providing over 20 hectares open space for recreational purposes forming part of the total 100 hectares of open space for the community. This will serve as further community access areas for the existing Sippy Downs community and will provide many new road access points both North to the Sunshine Motorway and South to the Caloundra interchange at Caloundra Road and direct access to the Bruce Highway so in terms of Road access this is good for the community.”
The community association would like to thank have a property group for inviting us to attend and we look forward to forging strong relationships between the entire Palmview community and the Sippy Downs community as a whole.

We welcome the commencement of the Coles development at the Sippy Downs Town Centre. The SDDCA has liaised with Cr Christian Dickson, council planning staff and various developers regarding the town centre for several years. We appreciate that development managers for Coles have kept us up to date throughout their application process.
Feedback from the community has shown a desire to see retail competition in the area which Coles can offer. The development will be walking distance from the University and Sippy Downs education precinct which will be of benefit for both shopping and diverse employment opportunities as well as future student accommodation.
The SDDCA has maintained a particular interest in the Coles development to ensure the 1500 Square Metres secured for the community within the town centre was allocated by Council for community use. We are looking forward to progressing this into the future with Council.
The SDDCA has always supported the Sippy Downs Centre site to be a mixture of small and large retail; adequate parking facilities and residential units. A concern has always been the local road network, but council’s recent upgrade of Sippy Downs Drive will ensure functionality in this area.”

Residents are encouraged to have their say on this expansion. All submissions will be taken into consideration during council’s assessment process.
The application is for an additional 681m2 of gross floor area to accommodate additional shopping aisles.
After receiving a briefing from council, the SDDCA will be making a submission and would welcome your thoughts and feedback on this proposed expansion to include in the submission. Please email us at email@example.com
by 14 Aug.
Alternatively you can make your submission direct to Sunshine Coast Council. For more information, visit council’s website <a href="http://www.sunshinecoast.qld viagra 100mg acheter

and search MCU15/0085 or click HERE
Please note: A local Chancellor Park website (which is NOT associated with the SDDCA) displays the following statement re this development application – “Woolworths will be opening a cafe and pizza bar in the extension (including gourmet pizza ovens and a Barista making fresh coffee) as well as offering another 6 aisles of shopping.”
As the pizza and coffee component was NOT included in the development application, the SDDCA sought clarification from Sunshine Coast Council who advised that the proposed expansion is to provide a more comprehensive grocery line and does NOT include gourmet pizza and Barista made coffee. We have also requested clarification in writing from Woolworths in order to explain how this information has been misrepresented.
In order to clear up some confusion in the community regarding the NBN Planned roll-out to Sippy Downs the SDDCA wrote to Member for Fisher Mal Brough M.P and NBN Co in relation to existing residents provision of NBN.
…existing Sippy Downs residents are definitely included in the NBN Rollout announcement last week…
We are pleased to re-confirm that existing Sippy Downs residents are definitely included in the NBN Roll-out announcement last week with delivery expected between 2 – 3 years and build commencement in the first half of 2016.
